The Project
Alka Pool is proud to be part of this incredibly beautiful and artistic project – The Butterfly. This luxury commercial pool and hot tub, located on Level 5 of The Butterfly in downtown Vancouver, creates a refined aquatic amenity for this landmark residential tower.
The pool and spa are constructed in reinforced concrete and laid out in an extended, linear format that is longer than our typical commercial installations, providing generous space for both exercise and relaxation. The interior is finished with 2 x 2 porcelain tile in a matte biscuit tone, with dessert gray accent tile adding quiet definition to key lines within the basin. Alabaster-toned grout completes the soft, neutral palette and allows the water and overhead light to take centre stage.
The pool and spa equipment was carefully selected to support daily residential use and long-term performance. Circulation and filtration systems were selected and coordinated to align with the project’s high-rise setting and the building’s overall mechanical strategy. Discreetly integrated details keep the focus on the water and architecture while delivering reliable operation for residents and building management alike.
An impressive arch of custom skylights by others spans the pool area and creates a signature atmosphere for this amenity level. Natural light filters through the skylights throughout the day, casting soft movement across the porcelain tile and highlighting the length of the pool. The result is a calm, contemporary space that pairs durable construction and careful detailing with a memorable visual experience for residents and guests.
