The Project
Nestled in the forested foothills of West Vancouver, a hidden retreat is revealed as one enters the outdoor living space. Its focal point is a vibrant 53’0’’ lap pool, complete with an elevated hot tub.
This contemporary lap pool is a masterclass in luxury and design, seamlessly blending modern elegance with resort-style comfort. The rectangular geometry provides a clean, sophisticated aesthetic, while the all-tile finish in Galaxy Blue creates a mesmerizing interplay of light and water, evoking a sense of tranquility and depth. Designed for both relaxation and entertainment, every detail has been meticulously considered to deliver an unparalleled outdoor living experience.
Typical to modern homes, the outdoor living space and its expansive patio, though one long area, is thoughtfully divided into three distinct zones, each tailored for a unique experience. An oversized wicker chaise lounge offers casual relaxation and the perfect nook for poolside reading. Mid patio, generous sectional sofas and armchairs provide a welcoming space for family gatherings and conversation. Further along the patio and sheltered under the upstairs balcony sits an alfresco dining table. This elegant dining area and state-of-the-art barbecue station create the perfect setting for outdoor meals and entertaining. Yet despite these separate areas, the outdoor patio still looks and feels as a cohesive whole brought together by the elegant Swimspace.
This luxurious Swimspace features its own three distinct areas: the lounge (baja shelf), the fitness center and the cozy hot tub. The expansive Baja shelf welcomes you into the water with a shallow, sun-drenched platform, perfect for lounging in style. Outfitted with sleek white tanning ledge chairs, this area invites effortless relaxation. Whether swimming laps or partaking in water aerobics, the center of the pool will get your heart racing and strengthen your muscles.
At the far corner the elevated hot tub stands as the ultimate haven of comfort. It is finished in matching tile and features a dramatic 360-degree perimeter overflow, creating a seamless mirror-like effect. The gentle cascade of water enhances the sensory experience, providing both visual and auditory tranquility. The hot tub’s proximity to the main pool allows for effortless transitions between warm and cool waters.
Another architectural design feature is the flood edge on one side of the pool which blurs the boundary between water and patio, creating an endless horizon effect. This design detail not only elevates the pool’s visual appeal but also enhances the sense of openness and connection to the surrounding environment. A discreet, full-length underwater bench runs along one side of the pool, offering a comfortable perch for conversation or quiet contemplation. This feature is ideal for social gatherings, allowing guests to relax in the water while enjoying panoramic views of the surrounding landscape over the infinity edge.
Every element of this Swimspace is custom-tailored to the client’s lifestyle, balancing functionality with artistry. The organic flow from the pool to the patio ensures effortless movement between spaces, while the interplay of fire, water, and light fosters moments of connection and relaxation.
